BIRDS ON THE BRAIN Gulls and crows are just a few of the birds on display as part of “The Ornithological Paintings of Jamie Wyeth.” It is the artist’s first major show in New York since 2000. PILGRIM’S PROGRESS In the summer of 1999, Father Jerome Tupa made an artistic and spiritual pilgrimage to Rome from Milan. During his travels, he kept a journal and made hundreds of drawings, which inspired him to paint the bright oil and watercolor paintings now on display in the exhibit “The Road to Rome: A Modern Pilgrimage.” Through August, Wednesday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., National Museum of Catholic Art and History, 443 E. 115th St., between First and Pleasant avenues, 212-828-5209, $5 suggested donation.
