CAN’T MOVE
Etan Frankel’s “Paralyzed” takes the stage at a reading that’s part of the “Out Loud” series of new work by emerging playwrights. The drama follows Leigh and Lee, strangers who are brought together by a mysterious suicide note. Trip Cullman directs the onetime-only reading. ODE TO KAUFMAN
The daughter of playwright George Kaufman, Anne Kaufman Schneider, participates in an homage to her father’s work. Actors read and sing excerpts from plays co-authored by Kaufman, including “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” “You Can’t Take it With You,””Animal Crackers,” and “The Royal Family.” The editor of the new Library of America collection of Kaufman’s work, Laurence Maslon, also participates. MILLER’S MEMORIES
The “Food for Thought” series stages lunchtime readings of one-act plays. Up next, a reading of Arthur Miller’s “I Can’t Remember Anything,” about two elderly friends facing failing health and memory loss.
