BERLIN — A NATO soldier was killed yesterday by a landmine in eastern Afghanistan, adding to the number of foreign troops killed in the country as the Islamist Taliban movement steps up an anti-government offensive.
The nationality of the soldier fighting with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s International Security Assistance Force wasn’t identified in a statement sent by e-mail. Four other soldiers were wounded in the blast, the alliance said.
