Israeli Fence May Move Deeper Into West Bank

JERUSALEM – Prime Minister Olmert’s office yesterday said the government is looking into moving a stretch of its separation barrier deeper into the West Bank to include two Jewish settlements

That route would leave thousands of Palestinian Arabs on the Israeli side of the fence.

Palestinian Arab officials immediately condemned the plan as an attempt by Israel to annex territory that they claim for a future independent state.
