ROME — Prime Minister Prodi’s government yesterday passed a bill allowing marijuana use for medical purposes.The bill aims at simplifying the procedure for pharmaceutical prescriptions for pain and approves several medicines derived from cannabis, Health Minister Livia Turco told reporters after a cabinet meeting in Rome. The Netherlands, Canada, and several American states authorize marijuana for medical use.
