One of President Bush’s daughters, Barbara, had her purse and cell phone stolen while on a trip to Argentina, ABC News reported yesterday.

Barbara Bush and her twin sister, Jenna, were reportedly dining in the San Telmo neighborhood of Buenos Aires when the theft took place. Secret Service agents who accompany the daughters did not immediately notice the crime, the network said.

ABC referred to the incident as a robbery and a “purse-snatching,” but did not say where the items where when they disappeared.

In an apparently unrelated incident, a Secret Service agent preparing for the visit of the Bush twins’ was beaten during an attempted mugging, ABC said in a report posted on its Web site.
