LOS ANGELES — Musician Ike Turner was held without bail at a downtown jail yesterday after Los Angeles police had pulled him over for speeding and discovered that he had an outstanding felony drug warrant.

Los Angeles Police Department motor officers spotted Mr. Turner’s 2002 Mercedes S–50 driving faster than 80 mph and straddling lanes on the northbound San Diego Freeway on Tuesday night. Mr. Turner exited the freeway and was pulled over about 11:45 p.m., an LAPD spokeswoman said. After running a warrants check, officers discovered that the 75-year-old entertainer had a no-bail felony narcotics warrant.
