A Hunter College student died after jumping 17 stories from the roof of a school building yesterday evening, police said.

Police did not immediately identify the victim, who jumped at around 6 p.m. from Hunter’s West Building at Lexington Avenue and East 67th Street.

Earlier in the day the student was escorted from the building for being on the roof and later reentered, police said.

Maureen Thomas, 58, a tutor at the school did not see the student jump, but said the following scene was “bloody.”
