A store billed as the nation’s largest distributor of Spanish language titles will close its doors on September 30 to concentrate on Internet sales.

Librería Lectorum, a division of Scholastic Corp., opened in 1960 on West 14th Street. In February, the store hosted a reception for “Harry Potter y el Misterio del Principe,” the Spanish-language edition of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.”

“Librería Lectorum has been a special part of the New York Hispanic community for the past 47 years,” a woman who oversees Lectorum for Scholastic, Teresa Mlawer, said. “We are grateful for all the love and support we have received.”

Librería Lectorum will still hold special readings in Spanish and Latino-themed events at Scholastic stores in SoHo and midtown.
