A young boy was found handcuffed to a tree and stripped of his clothes yesterday after being sexually assaulted in Staten Island, police officials said.

The 13-year-old was discovered by uniformed agents from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals after they were flagged down by a pedestrian who heard cries for help coming from woods in the South Beach section of Staten Island, a spokesman for the ASPCA, Joseph Pentangelo said.

Police searched for the suspect, but as of last night no one had been captured. The boy told police that a man armed with a knife forced him into the woods, police commissioner, Raymond Kelly, said.
