NUNNERY TO WEDDING BELLS The parents of a woman about to be married bought this apartment for the newlyweds in an all-cash deal. The doublewide brownstone, which once housed nuns, was converted from a rental into four condominiums. This 1,377-square-foot duplex has a living room with five windows facing the front, an arch of exposed brick leading into the kitchen, and an original staircase from the 1800s. The fiancee is relocating from Atlanta to be with her husband-to-be, who currently lives in Long Island City but will soon join her in the apartment. Rudy Lucchese of the Corcoran Group represented the parents of the future bride, while Corcoran Group agent Cindy Mc-Field had the exclusive listing.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST This 10,000-square-foot townhouse, just steps from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, had a beautiful facade and an interior that was in shambles. Converted into three apartments many years ago, it was in need of a gut renovation, and the buyers, a family that had been on a long-term search for the perfect property, were up for the job. “It is hard to find a building in a good location, with an elevator, that is wide enough and can be converted into a one-family home,” said Anne Demarzo of Demarzo Realty, who represented the buyers. The sellers, who were represented by Paul Massey of Massey Knakal Realty, were an elderly couple tired of being landlords. They moved to a condominium on Central Park West. The 22-foot-wide home boasts high ceilings, a terrace, and a bow-shaped facade. It was delivered vacant.
