Though having your legs or eyebrows waxed by a professional is always easier than doing it at home, sometimes a quick touch-up is essential. For those cases, it’s good to know that the Canadian brand Parissa, which makes all-natural self-waxing products, is expanding its offerings in New York City. The brand has partnered with Duane Reade to offer four products exclusively in the drugstores starting in August.
“Duane Reade is everywhere. It was important for us because they are such a force in New York,” Parissa owner Fardad Moayeri said.
While Mr. Moayeri has developed products that address different kinds of skin and hair types, the four items he selected for the ubiquitous retailer are based on convenience and speed. On the shelves of most Duane Reades soon will be three sizes of pre-applied wax strips (Wax Strips for Legs and Body, $11.99; Wax Strips for Face and Bikini, $8.99; Mini Wax Strips, $8.99), as well as the microwavable Parissa Studio Warm Wax ($11.99) for coarse hair.
Other Parissa products are available at select Whole Foods and Ricky’s. “We really think about what are the right products for a retail environment,” Mr. Moayeri said. “That’s what’s so great about New York. There are so many retailers that serve different kinds of people.”
