FERRIES
WEST POINT FOOTBALL
For four more home games, New York Waterway will ferry Manhattan football fans to West Point, where the Black Knights take on rivals such as Air Force, on November 6.
With no traffic, tolls, or parking hassles, boats depart Pier 78, at West 38th Street and Twelfth Avenue, at 7:45 a.m. the day of the game and provide unhindered views of the fall foliage along the Hudson River.
Passengers arrive in time to catch a glimpse of the weekly cadet parade and all of the football game. Tickets, which include roundtrip transportation and the game itself, cost $80 for adults, seniors, and children. www.newyorkwaterway.com or 800-53-FERRY.
FESTIVALS
HAMPTONS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
The box office for the Twelfth Annual Hamptons International Film Festival, October 20-24, is now open.
A qualifying venue for Academy Award aspirants, the festival’s lineup includes “Army of One,” a documentary about three Americans who join up after September 11, and international feature “Niceland,” from Icelander and Academy Award nominee Fridrik Thor Fridriksson.
Festival favorites – such as early-bird morning screenings, “A Conversation With” (a surprise prominent film luminary), and a “Rising Stars” panel with up-and-coming actors – round out the schedule. Movies screen at theaters from East Hampton to Montauk. Ticket, travel, and accommodation information at www.hamptonsfilmfest.org.
