In the Indian, ice-bound version of “Bend It Like Beckham,” Shimit Amin’s Bollywood sports drama “Chak De India” stars Shah Rukh Khan as a coach for a girl’s hockey team that has aspirations of playing in a worldwide tournament. Coach Khan (Mr Amin) is intent on doing his country proud and fielding a successful squad, but one of his star players, Vidya (Vidya Malvade), is having trouble convincing her stern parents that she should play. The film opens today at the Imaginasian Theater.

In this thriller by James Isaac, creatures, bound by the blood of the wolf that can kill with curses and move at lightning speed, watch the night sky for the rise of the blood-red crescent moon. They know the power he holds — he alone has the ability to control his family’s destiny, a gift that has placed his life in danger.
