LITERARY EXPLORERS A taxidermy contest highlights a book party celebrating the new release, “Carnivorous Nights: On the Trail of the Tasmanian Tiger” (Villard). Attendees are encouraged to bring jarred specimens, skeletons, pelts, skulls, and stuffed heads. Authors Michael Crewdson and Margaret Mittlebach and illustrator Alexis Rockman also read from and sign their book, which chronicles their quest to rediscover what was the world’s largest carnivorous marsupial before it went extinct at the beginning of the 20th century.
