STARTING PIECES The Spanierman Gallery presents the final weeks of its “Art for the New Collector IV” exhibit and sale.The works, mostly by American artists, range from a quiet rural watercolor landscape by Henry Farrer to a bronze bookend sculpture of two American Indian chiefs by Charles Harry Humphriss. Other featured artists are Oscar Bluemner, John Graham, and Albert Sterner. Prices range from $1,500 to $15,000. Above is Colin Campbell Cooper’s “Stresa (Italy)” (1924) and at left is William Zorach’s “Autumn Oaks” (1953).
