Mr. Stadler will read from and sign his book amid streamers and other birthday party decorations. DIRTY LAUNDRY

Children can rock out this weekend at the first in a series of family concerts at Joe’s Pub, a downtown club that’s usually dimly lit and fueled by cocktails and jazz. The Dirty Sock Funtime Band brightens things up with an afternoon concert of songs from its latest album, “Mr. Clown And the Day the Sun Got Wet.” Silly songs include “Don’t Take Our Brains,” “Blame Mr. Clown,” and “The Clowna Nagila.” Lunch is available, too. The concert is intended for children between ages 4 and 11. Sunday, 10 a.m. doors open, 11 a.m. concert, Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette St. at Astor Place, 212-239-6200 for tickets, 212-539-8778 for lunch reservations, $12, concert reservations strongly suggested.

To submit an event for consideration for the Calendar, please wire the particulars to calendar@nysun.com, placing the date of the event in the subject line.
