GARBO TALKS In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Greta Garbo’s birth, Scandinavia House presents the film series Forever Garbo. Up next are dual screenings of the American and German productions of “Anna Christie” (1930), based on the Eugene O’Neill play about a Swedish-American prostitute haunted by her past. Clarence Brown directed the American version. Jacques Feyder then directed a German-language version for distribution abroad, which Garbo preferred. The film was the actress’s first “talkie,” promoted with the simple tag-line “Garbo Talks.” Tonight, 5:30 p.m. American version, 8 p.m. German version, Saturday, 3 p.m. American version, 5:30 p.m. German version, Scandinavia House, 58 Park Ave., between 37th and 38th streets, 212-879-9779, $8 general, $6 members. DANCE A LA PARIS Dance critic Jack Anderson participates in a question-and-answer session after a screening of “Ballets Russes,” a documentary about the historic dance company founded in Paris in 1909. Mr. Anderson is a contributor to the book “The Golden Age of Costume and Set Design for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo: 1938-1944” (Cincinnati Art Museum). Tomorrow, 6 p.m., Film Forum, 209 W.
