CHORAL MASTERPIECE The Choir of the Church of Saint Luke in the Fields, directed by David Shuler, performs Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers. The choir will be accompanied by an ensemble of period instruments. A lecture precedes the performance (7 p.m.). TWO FOR ONE After watching the one-handed pianist, Paul Wittgenstein, jazz pianist Borah Bergman developed enough skill in his left hand to become a completely ambidextrous musician. He performs his contrapuntal and polyphonic style of music in a solo performance. COUNTRY GROOVE New York Uke Fest is a four-day extravaganza of ukulele performances and celebration. Performers include the duo Folk Uke, comprised of Cathy Guthrie and Amy Nelson (Arlo’s and Willie’s daughters, respectively), and the Boulder Acoustic Society. GIVING BACK Cutting Edge Concerts presents Giving Back, a series of concerts featuring new works by living composers. Newband plays the music of Harry Partch and Dean Drummond at the final concert.
