ROSE PARADE
“I Am the Rose” is a new exhibit of Passover-related manuscripts, books, and prints. The highlight is a series of contemporary interpretations of the Haggadah by artists including Jack Levine, Frank Stella, and Al Hirschfeld. They were all commissioned by the Frederick, Daniel, and Elihu Rose families for their family seders over the past 50 years. Through Saturday, June 4, Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Thursday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Sunday through May 22, 1-6 p.m., New York Public Library, Humanities and Social Sciences Library, Sue and Edgar Wachenheim III Gallery, Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street, 212-869-8089, free.
PASSOVER STROLL
A “Bowery and Canal” walking tour on the first day of Passover explores the Lower East Side’s Jewish history and its present development. Saturday, 2 p.m., meet in front of the Educational Alliance Building, 197 East Broadway at Jefferson Street, 212-979-8013, $12 general, $10 seniors and students.
