APE APPARENT A professor of anthropology at Penn State, Alan Walker, lectures on the study of Proconsul, an East African ancestor of apes and humans.He is co-author, with his wife, Pat Shipman, of “The Ape in the Tree” (Belknap Press), a history of the hominid.
