In Israel, Germany Condemns Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions

Chancellor Merkel of Germany used talks with Israeli Prime Minister Olmert yesterday to stress her government’s condemnation of Iran’s nuclear ambitions, underlining attempts to foster stronger German-Israeli ties.
Mrs. Merkel will tell Mr. Olmert that Germany and Israel are completely agreed on the threat posed by a nuclear Iran, a German government official said on condition of anonymity.
Mrs. Merkel has shown “inspirational courage and determination with regard to the struggle against terror and the campaign against the nuclear arming of Iran,” Mr. Olmert said in welcoming remarks yesterday, praising her Middle East policy.
