Prime Minister Tusk of Poland said he’ll skip the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing, as his government asked other European Union members to join its protest. Mr. Tusk won’t attend the ceremony, his spokeswoman, Agnieszka Liszka, said by phone. Ms. Liszka wouldn’t say whether Mr. Tusk will attend other events. “Questions of human rights are unusually important for Polish society after years in which they were violated in our country,” the deputy foreign minister, Ryszard Schnepf, told the Dziennik newspaper in an article published yesterday
