CALGARY, Alberta — The tomb of Pierre Trudeau, a former prime minister of Canada, was vandalized in Quebec, the Ministry of the Environment said.

“I instructed my officials to take action at the earliest opportunity to ensure the site is cleaned,” Environment Minister John Baird said in a statement on MarketWire last night. The Ministry of the Environment is in charge of maintaining the gravesites of the nation’s former leaders. Mr. Baird was informed of the vandalism Friday.
