Scalamandré, the renowned luxury textile and wallpaper company, is closing the factory it’s occupied in a historic brick building in Long Island City for the past 75 years and moving to South Carolina.

In the process, it’s selling off thousands of artifacts from the factories interior: looms, workbenches, spinning wheels, fabric remnants, yarn, spools of thread, punch cards, and silk screens. Average prices will be $20 to $35.

LLD Specialty Sales, which is conducting the event, has divided the sale into three phases in anticipation of overwhelming interest from customers. Those who want a first crack at the goods must buy $100 tickets through an Internet auction closing November 22 for the “Early Buyer Days,” November 29 to December 1 (auction at www.scalamandre.com; the entry cost will be credited towards purchases). Next come “Discount Buyer Days,” December 2 to 4; the $50 tickets can also be purchased through the Web site. “Bulk Buying Days,” December 6 to 10, are free, but appointments are recommended.

Scalamandré, 37-19 23rd St., Long Island City. For more information, call 800-508-0022 or visit www.scalamandre.com.
