The trial opened yesterday for David Jordan, the man accused of murdering Reverend Philip Mann, a popular Harlem pastor who was stabbed to death last March in his East Harlem apartment.
Mr. Jordan’s defense attorneys and prosecutors don’t dispute the fact that Mr. Jordan killed Mann, 68 and that Mann had been soliciting sex from Mr. Jordan in exchange for money, jewelry, and clothes.
Defense attorneys claim the killing constituted self-defense while prosecutors say it was a fit of rage.
