Mayor Bloomberg may want to offer Governor Spitzer a pacifier next time he sees him. Yesterday, when asked about a poll showing that he would beat Mr. Spitzer if he ran as a Republican against him, he said: “I think that Eliot Spitzer will turn out to be a very good governor of this state. He’s had his teething problems as everybody does when they come into office.” Mr. Bloomberg dismissed the poll, which was conducted by Siena College Research Institute. He also denied that he has any plans of running against Mr. Spitzer in 2010.
