Qantas has extended the deadline for booking its Aussie Air Pass packages to August 31, 2005. Packages during the low season (April 26-June 17 and July 19-August 26, 2005) start from $1,299 and sell out quickly.
The air pass provides round-trip economy flights between New York and Sydney, plus three domestic flights within Australia. It encompasses “zone one,” with travel to and from Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Hobart, and Launceston.
For an additional $200, travelers can add “zone two” destinations – Cairns, Hamilton Island, Townsville, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and Darwin, and $400 expands the options to “zone three” – Perth, Broome, and Hayman Island.

HOTEL OPENING
The luxurious Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman has announced an October 2005 opening, postponed from this month because of Hurricane Ivan. The Residences at The Ritz-Carlton, 69 luxury condominiums adjacent to the hotel, will open in June 2005.
Nestled on 144 acres stretching from Seven Mile Beach to North Sound, the $400 million resort will include a Greg Norman-designed nine-hole golf course and a Nick Bollettieri tennis center, a La Prairie spa, and two new Eric Ripert restaurants.
