Anti-Israel Activists Accused of ‘Terrorist Connection’ Involving Vandalism at Trump Golf Resort

Seven anti-Israel activists accused of vandalizing President Trump’s Turnberry golf resort are now accused of committing an act connected to terrorism.The allegation is inside an indictment filed at Scotland’s High Court of Justiciary in connection with the March 2025 incident. The activists are charged with malicious damage and the terrorism enhancement could lead to longer sentences if they are convicted.Prosecutors say members of the protest group Palestine Action broke into the resort, sprayed the clubhouse with red paint, destroyed turf with weed killer, and painted slogans like “Free Gaza” and “Free Palestine” on walls and the golf course.Shortly after the seven activists were arrested days after the incident, Mr. Trump called them terrorists on social media. “They did serious damage, and will hopefully be treated harshly,” Mr. Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.A co-founder of Palestine Action, Huda Ammori, reacted to the terrorism enhancement for the Turnberry suspects. “Two months after this action, the Counter Terrorism board said that no action by Palestine Action in Scotland, came close to meeting the terrorism threshold,” Ms. Ammori stated in an X post. “Yet, after meetings between Donald Trump, Eric Trump, Starmer, John Swinney and David Lammy, this is now ‘terrorism’,” she added.The defendants, Kieran Robson, Uzma Bashir, Ricky Southall, Autumn Taylor Ward, Rebecca Sian Davies, John Moxley, and Dylan Chiaramello were due to appear in court next Monday but the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service said the hearing had been adjourned and moved to October, the BBC reported.In June, four other members of Palestine Action received longer prison sentences under the terrorism enhancement for causing a million pounds of damage to a factory operated by the Israeli defense company Ebit Systems. Another judge, however, declined to sentence five other members of the group as terrorists for damaging a Barclays bank branch.Palestine Action took credit for a series of vandalism across Britain around the same time as the Turnberry incident, including causing more than $9.4 million in damage when members vandalized planes at a Royal Air Force station in Carterton, England. The United Kingdom government, in July 2025, banned Palestine Action and branded it as a terrorist group.On Wednesday, the United States Department of Treasury followed suit and sanctioned Palestine Action for “having materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods and services to or in support of an act of terrorism.” The United States is freezing the far left group’s assets and bars Americans from doing business with the group.The Israel Foreign Ministry said it welcomed the announcement by the Trump administration. “Terrorist organizations have systematically exploited Western civil society, using political and humanitarian pretenses to mask violent operations, radicalize youth, and channel illicit funding,” the ministry stated in an X post.Palestine Action is appealing its ban in the United Kingdom to that country’s supreme court.
