J.K. Rowling is one of 13 authors producing a “storycard” written on a blank A5 sheet as part of a charity auction in London.
The “Harry Potter” writer, Richard Ford, Tom Stoppard, Sebastian Faulks, Doris Lessing, and Nick Hornby have all contributed to the sale at a branch of Waterstone’s, the bookseller announced Friday.
Proceeds from the June 10 event, called “What’s Your Story?” will be donated to English PEN and Dyslexia Action.
In December 2007, a record auction price of $3.98 million was paid by Amazon.com Inc. at a Sotheby’s London charity sale for J.K. Rowling’s handwritten volume of fairy tales, “The Tales of Beedle the Bard.”
