WHO’S ON 42ND Writers David Block and Eugena Pilek read from their books about baseball at a double-header event presented by the New York chapter of Society of American Baseball Research. Mr. Block is the author of “Baseball Before We Knew It: A Search for the Roots of the Game” (University of Nebraska Press), and Ms. Pilek, a native of Cooperstown, N.Y., the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame, is the author of the novel “Cooperstown” (Touchstone).
