The off-Broadway production “In the Heights” will move to Broadway for the 2007-08 season at a theater yet to be determined, the musical’s producers announced yesterday. Producers Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller, and Jill Furman first mounted the play, about the life of a tight-knit community in uptown Manhattan, at the beginning of the year at the 37 Arts theater in Midtown. A two-time Drama Desk award-winner, “In the Heights,” written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, will give its final performance at 37 Arts on Sunday, July 15. The full cast of the Broadway production will be announced in coming weeks.
The Joyce Theater will mount a 25th Anniversary Commissioning Initiative, featuring 25 commissioned dance works with tickets priced at $25, for its 2007-08 season, the theater announced yesterday.
