BALI DANCING
The dance ensemble Cudamani, based in Bali, gives an overview and demonstration of percussion-based gamelan music and Balinese dance. A cocktail reception precedes the event (5 p.m.). (Friday, 8-10 p.m., Asia Society and Museum, 725 Park Ave. at 70th Street, 212-517-2742, $15 general, $10 members and students.) The 23-member ensemble performs a full dance concert a few days later, complete with a gamelan orchestra of gongs and metallophones and dance-dramas that re-enact Balinese myths (Sunday, 7 p.m., Jazz at Lincoln Center, Rose Hall, Time Warner Center, Broadway and 60th Street, 212-258-9800, $25-$48).
