AMERICAN BALLET
The New York City Ballet launches its 2005-06 season with an opening night benefit, “An American Music Celebration.” Highlights include a performance of Peter Martins’s “Fearful Symmetries” and the premiere of a ballet choreographed by Albert Evans. A black-tie Supper Ball follows the event.
Tuesday, 6 p.m. cocktails, 7:30 p.m. performance, Lincoln Center, New York State Theater, Columbus Avenue and 63rd Street, 212-870-5585, $20-$100 performance only, $200 performance and cocktail reception, $1,500-$3,000 cocktail reception, dinner, and performance.
