ANIMAL INSTINCT The Rubin Museum of Art presents a program for young children to touch, play with, and even smell art. Visitors can listen to fables about animals and imagine their own mythical creatures, make drawings and sculpture based on animal images, and explore a Himalayan treasure chest. The program is intended for children age 2 to 5 and accompanying adults. Thursday, 10 a.m.-noon, Rubin Museum of Art, 150 W. 17th St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues, 212-620-5000, $5-$7 general, free for children.
