‘TONIGHT I WRITE THE SADDEST LINES’ The French Institute’s Alliance Française presents a screening of Michael Radford’s “Il Postino” (1994), about an Italian postman who learns to love poetry while delivering mail to a famed Chilean poet, Pablo Neruda, who guides him in wooing a local beauty. The showing is a posthumous tribute to featured actor Philippe Noiret’s contribution to French cinema. MAN OF STEEL As part of its “Next Generation of Film” series, the Film Society of Lincoln Center presents a conversation with actor Ben Affleck and film critic Kent Jones. The talk follows a screening of Allen Coulter’s “Hollywoodland” (2006), about the mysterious death of a fading actor who became best known for his television portrayal of Superman, George Reeves.
