COOKIES START WITH C Authors Ayun Halliday, of the memoir “Dirty Sugar Cookies: Culinary Observations, Questionable Taste” (Avalon), and Anna Lappé, of the essay “Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen” (Penguin), discuss their books and the culinary arts. The event is presented in conjunction with a cookie swap: Attendees are encouraged to bring a plate of cookies. SOMETHING NEW “Kitchen Essentials for Every Bride” is a talk and cooking class, featuring Emily Klein, for women who need advice on what to put on their bridal registry gift lists.
