SOUL MUSIC IN BROOKLYN The next installment of the Martin Luther King Jr. Concert series features the O’Jays (tonight). Upcoming highlights: Hezekiah Walker (August 8), Chaka Kahn (August 15), and the Mighty Sparrow (August 22). UZBEK DEBUTS As part of a cultural exchange program between America and Central Asia, musicians from Uzbekistan make their New York premiere along with members of the Bang on a Can All-Stars at Tonic. The performers play traditional Uzbek instruments such as the doyra drum, the flutes surnay and kornay,and stringed dutar and tanbur. WHERE BLUEBIRDS FLY Caramoor presents “Sing My Heart: Celebrating Harold Arlen at 100” for the songwriter’s centennial, featuring Tony Award-winning singer Judy Kaye. Arlen wrote more than 400 songs, the most famous of which was “Over the Rainbow.” Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 p.m., Caramoor, 149 Girdle Ridge Rd., Katonah, N.Y., 914-232-5035, $55.


LAND DOWN UNDER CANAL STREET Singersongwriter Colin Hay performs with a full band at the Canal Room. Mr. Hay recently contributed a song to the “Garden State” soundtrack, but older fans may remember him as the front man for the ’80s band Men at Work.
