NORWEGIAN NOTES The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra performs a program that includes piano concertos by Haydn and Mozart, with pianist Leif Ove Andsnes.The concert also includes Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”; Eivind Buene’s recent composition “Langsam und Schmachtend,” and Beethoven’s String Quartet in F Major, arranged by the orchestra’s artistic director, Terje T0nnesen. Tonight, 8 p.m., Carnegie Hall, Isaac Stern Auditorium, 881 Seventh Ave. at 57th Street, 212-247-7800, $23-$79.


BACH IS BACK Organist David Shuler performs a recital titled “J.S. Bach and the French Connection.” Tomorrow, 8 p.m., Church of Saint Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson St. at Grove Street, 212-414-9419, $20 general, $15 for students and senior citizens.


FOR THE FLUTE Ralph Samuelson, Elizabeth Brown, Shoji Mizumoto, and Ned Rothenberg perform a program of music for the shakuhachi,a traditional Japanese bamboo flute. The concert features traditional and new compositions for between one and four players positioned around the room. RIVERSIDE PERFORMANCE Music director George Rothman will conduct the Riverside Symphony in the second subscription program of the orchestra’s 25th-anniversary season. The concert features a rarely heard piece from the Baroque master Jean-Philippe Rameau and a contemporary work by Marius Constant, who died in 2004. French violinist Olivier Charlier will be featured. Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Lincoln Center, Alice Tully Hall, West 65th Street near Columbus Avenue, 212-721-6500 $25 and $45.
