CELLO CLASSICS The Americas Society launches its Virtuoso Performers series with “Bach Meets Brazil,” a concert by Brazilian cellist Antonio Meneses.The program includes three of Bach’s six suites for unaccompanied cello. It also includes the American premieres of commissioned works by three contemporary Brazilian composers. Tonight, 7 p.m., Americas Society, 680 Park Ave. at 68th Street, 212-277-8359, free.
CONTEMPORARY CONCERT The Manhattan School of Music presents the Claremont Ensemble, a new-music group. The program features works by Luciano Berio and faculty members Richard Danielpour and Giampaolo Bracali. A pre-concert lecture with David Geber and Mr. Bracali will be moderated by Mr. Danielpour.
