STRUNG ALONG The opera “Red Beads” tells a coming-of-age story set in turn of-century New England using contemporary music, ancient Japanese dance styles, and modern puppetry. Lee Breuer, who wrote the book, serves as director, and Wonjung Kim stars as the voice of the daughter and the woman. The score was composed by Ushio Torikai. Tonight and Thursday-Saturday, 7:30 p.m., New York University, Skirball Center for Performing Arts, 60 Washington Square South, between Laguardia Place and Thompson Street, 212-992-8484, $45 and $55.
