IN THE KITCHEN WITH MATTHEW Artist Matthew Ritchie presents a performance-lecture based on his large-scale drawings, sculptures, and digital animation depicting the history of the universe. During the lecture, actors are silently cued to read lines written by Mr. Ritchie, who also directs a live sound feed and video projections. The performance is part of the Kitchen’s Sidney Kahn Summer Institute talks. Thursday, 7 p.m., the Kitchen, 512 W. 19th St., between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, 212-255-5713, free.
