TRACKING DISEASE Journalist Karl Taro Greenfeld discusses the 2003 SARS epidemic, which he traces from the bedside of one of the first Chinese victims, to labs where researchers identified and subdued the virus, to the strategy sessions at the World Health Organization. Mr. Greenfeld is the author of “China Syndrome: The Killer Virus That Crashed the Middle Kingdom” (HarperCollins). MEDICAL CROSSROADS In a lecture on “The Making of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome,” author and professor Janet Golden discusses the syndrome as the intersection of medicine, technology, government, and public health. BROOKLYN UNDERGROUND Historian Jeff Richman discusses the notable “residents” of Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn. They include Leonard Bernstein, Charles Ebbets, Samuel F.B. Morse, Peter Cooper, Horace Greeley, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Henry Ward Beecher, and “Boss”Tweed. He is the author of “Brooklyn’s Green-Wood Cemetery: New York’s Buried Treasure” (Green-Wood Cemetery).
