Schroeder’s Chutzpah

So, the German chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder, is seeking to boost his own election chances by coming out against American military action in Iraq, saying he doesn’t want Germany to participate in American “adventures.” How quickly they forget. If it weren’t for American “adventures,” there wouldn’t be real elections in Germany, as the country would still be under the Nazi or the Soviet boot. As it is, no Iraqi has the freedom to do what Mr. Schroeder is doing, which is making a turkey of himself in the hope of wooing voters at the polls.
