NEW SOUS Sarah Ochs, formerly of Esca and EU, is now a sous chef at the Spotted Pig (314 W. 11th St. at Greenwich Street, 212-620-0393).

BEER HERE Hurapan Kitchen (29 Seventh Avenue South, near Morton Street, 212-727-2678) has a new liquor license. The wine list is small and eclectic, but it will expand in the coming weeks. The cocktails are Thai themed, and the beers are standard Asian (Thai Singha, Japanese Sapporo, and Chinese Tsing Tao, all $6), plus Rolling Rock ($5). One note on Singha beer, it is pronounced “Sing.” The “ha” is silent.

LOCAL DISCOUNT Oscar’s American Brasserie in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel (301 Park Ave., between 49th and 50th streets, 212-872-1275) is offering people who live in the metropolitan tri-state area a 20% discount this month. Just show proof of residency in New York City or its suburbs.

COCKTAIL TRIO During the “Debriefing Hour” at the Waldorf’s Peacock Alley (212-872-7335), weekdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., you can pick your choice of three cocktails from the restaurant’s list of 20, each in a 4.5-ounce martini glass, for $24. Gentlemen are requested to wear jackets.

HOUSE CHAMPAGNE Aquavit (66 E. 55th St., between Park and Madison avenues, 212-307-7311) is now offering its own brand of champagne. Cuvée Aquavit is a non-vintage brut, 67% chardonnay and 33% pinot noir, produced by Champagne Chapuy. It is available for $16 a glass or $65 a bottle at Aquavit and its sister restaurant, Riingo (205 E. 45th St., between Second and Third avenues, 212-850-6300).

MORE VINES The Brooklyn liquor store Smith & Vine has moved from 246 Smith St. to a space more than twice its size, one block away at 268 Smith St. (between Sackett and DeGraw streets). Its phone number is still 718-243-2864.

LUNCH SERVICE Japonais (111 E. 18th St., between Park Avenue South and Irving St., 212-260-2020) started serving lunch on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30. p.m.

MONDAY SPECIALS Cercle Rouge (241 West Broadway at North Moore Street, 212-226-6252) is trying to bring in more guests on Monday by offering to expand their wine horizons. Each Monday, the restaurant is offering a different type of wine at half price. This Monday all California wines will be on sale. On February 19 it will be white Burgundies, and red Bordeaux will be next.

B.Y.O.W. Or you can go to nearby Tribeca Grill (375 Greenwich St. at Franklin Street, 212-941-3900) where, starting this Monday, guests can bring one bottle per table without a corkage charge. (After that it is $20 a bottle). If requested, the wine staff will pair the wine with chef Stephen Lewandowski’s food.

NEW AT TELLERS West coast chef Alan Kwan is executive chef of Tellers Chophouse(605 Main St. at Willow Avenue, Islip, 631-277-7070). He hails from San Francisco, where he most recently was cooks’ supervisor at Gary Danko.
