ALL THAT JAZZ Tyson Jordan has been named the new executive chef at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola (212-258-9595), the jazz club at Jazz at Lincoln Center in the Time Warner Center. He is a former banquet chef for BLT Fish.

“We’re trying to do a lot of new and different things here,” including dishes with some Southern influence, Mr. Jordan said.

He said he will have grits shipped to him the day they are ground and hopes to serve them with braised short ribs and wild mushrooms. “We’re not going to do pigs’ feet or pickled ears,” he said.

TEA & CAKE The cupcake-centric Magnolia Bakery (401 Bleecker St. at West 11th Street, 212-462-2572) will soon serve iced tea, too. The restaurant’s head of operations, Bobbie Lloyd, said she plans to start experimenting with new iced teas, including chamomile tea mixed with peppermint tea. She will start offering teas by Memorial Day.

Mr. May also is involved in the new restaurant, which features items such as carciofi alla giudea (Roman-style fried artichokes, $15) and fegatini di pollo in aceta balsamico (chicken livers in balsamic vinegar, $12).

SECOND IN SOHO Aurora, an Italian restaurant in Williamsburg, opened a 60-seat location in SoHo (510 Broome St., between West Broadway and Thompson Street, 212-334-9020) last Thursday for dinner. Lunch service starts tomorrow.

ON THE WATERFRONT Hudson River Cafe (697 W. 133 St. at Twelfth Avenue 212-491-9111) opens tomorrow. The menu is contemporary American and includes steakhouse classics, but it also has items with Asian and Latin-American twists.

TASTING BRUNCH The Tasting Room (264 Elizabeth St., between Houston and Prince streets, 212-358-7831) is now open for brunch on Sundays between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
