Crash Kills Five Britons, Injures 12 in Ecuador

PARIS — Five Britons were killed and another 12 were injured following a bus crash in Ecuador, the British Broadcasting Corp. reported on its Web site yesterday, citing Britain’s Foreign Office.
The accident took place between Quito and Puerto Lopez on April 12 between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time, the BBC said.
Staff from the British embassy are providing assistance and are working together with the tour operator to inform the victims’ relatives, the BBC reported. The exact circumstances of the crash are still unknown, according to the BBC.
