Famed British designer and retailer Terence Conran, an avid home cook, has designed a new line of attractive, mid-priced kitchenware. The collection, titled simply “by,” includes a range of saucepans and frying pans ($59-$95), streamlined measuring and serving spoons ($10-$18), and forged stainless-steel knives, from a paring knife to a cleaver ($15-$36). The ceramics, inspired by French marmite cooking pots, include storage jars, mixing bowls, casseroles, and serving dishes that can be taken from oven to table ($69 for a large casserole dish).

The “by” collection is available at the Conran Shop, 407 E. 57th St., 212-755-9079.
