RCN Telecom Services of New York is paying the city over a million dollars after failing to report large amounts of revenue over a seven year period. Comptroller Bill Thompson yesterday completed an audit of the company’s records from 1999 to 2005 and concluded that it had amassed a total of $26 million in unreported revenue, owing the city $1.8 million as a result. According to the comptroller’s office, RCN has already paid $1.3 million of the money requested by the city.
