Police: Man Killed During Hostage Incident

A 66-year-old Brooklyn man was killed Tuesday during during an incident in which the man’s son held several family members hostage.

Police said Carlton Ingleton was found inside his apartment on Schenectady Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Earlier, his 36-year-old son reportedly held Ingleton’s wife hostage in the apartment, along with own wife and two young children. Police said the family members emerged from the apartment around 6 p.m., when Ingleton’s daughter-in-law called police.

When officers forced their way into the apartment shortly thereafter, they discovered Ingleton’s body in the living room. Police sources said he apparently had been hit on the head with a blunt object.
